Action Alert - Time
running out for Wild Monongahela Act to pass Senate
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The 2008 Public Lands Management Omnibus
Act, a 96 bill federal legislative package was recently
introduced in the United States Senate. Included
in the package is the historic Wild Monongahela Act, a bill that
would permanently protect around 37,000 acres of wild lands in West
Virginia's Monongahela National Forest.
With only a month left once Congress
returns from recess, this is truly the last chance for the U.S.
Senate to make this legislation become law! Senators Byrd and
Rockefeller need to hear from their constituents, urging them to
push for the Wild Mon Act's passage.
